Hong Kong reports three new imported Covid-19 cases

In Hong Kong today which has reported three new imported Covid-19 cases.

All three cases are the new Omicron Variant. Omicron was first reported in South Africa. The who says this variant has a large number of mutations and may spread more quickly. Hong Kong is closing its borders to visitors from eight Southern African countries. The ban applies to non-residents who have recently been to Botswana as Watini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa fully vaccinated. Hong Kong residents are allowed to fly back. But must enter a mandatory 21 day quarantine. The discovery of the new variant comes as the government says hong kong has met requirements for resuming quarantine free travel with the Chinese Midland. The special administrative region is expected to launch a local health code system in December.
